The Committee members discussed a situation that formed due the replacement of the Television Company leaders and the President´s Decree "On the Action Plan on Creation of the System of Public Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine".
Hanna Herman, the Committee Chairman, congratulated the personnel of the National Television Company on appointment of new leaders. Inter alia, she wished that "the channel would be better, more interesting, politically unbiased, with different points of view".
Eduard Prutnik, the Chairman of the State Committee on Television and Radio Broadcasting, called on the personnel and new leaders of the Television Company for "prevention of politicization of information field, since it can result in social tension".
The employees of the National Television Company displayed interest in the issue concerning creation of the Public Council of the National Television Company of Ukraine. They also drew attention to insufficient financing of the channel, problems with technical equipment and frequencies, etc.
